Before I started this piece I found some pretty cotton embroidery threads in a charity shop, I knew that these threads would make some beautiful creative work as the colours had a wonderful depth, and if I'm being completely honest, were really cheap. I didn’t recognise the brand when I bought them but could tell that they had good quality, when I looked it up they were from a Danish brand that used flowers as inspiration for their colours. Working with this set of deep floral tones I wanted to make a piece that has hints of a flower without being figurative but gives the essence of nature within its shapes and symmetry.
