My name is Sian, and I am an artist from the Vale of Glamorgan. For a long time, I hesitated to call myself an artist for countless reasons, mainly fear —fear that someone might tell me my art isn’t real, fear that it isn’t good enough, and fear of judgment. From this moment on I am not going to let the fear keep getting in my way, I am Sian and I am proud to call myself an artist.

In line with my personal philosophy of life, I create my art by going with the flow and allowing the materials to dictate their own paths. If I try to over-plan or adhere to strict to-do lists, things inevitably go awry. By having gentle ideas and frameworks, I can explore my work by trusting my intuition and instincts, making the process more organic and almost meditative. Sometimes this path is easy, sometimes challenging, and sometimes chaotic, but it always leads me where I am meant to be.

My work is all about colour, texture, and joy. While minimalism may bring happiness to some, it leaves me feeling cold. I want to experience the world through vibrant, beautiful things and share the joy I find in creating them. Every stitch connecting to the next forms intricate patterns of colour and texture that reflect who I am.

My work blends traditional craft with my unique perspective to produce contemporary art full of life, joy, and, most importantly, colour.
