From working my previous pieces I wanted to create a piece that had more texture. I started the piece the same way as I had done previously and then bound it on to the hoop, from there I started adding the spiral following the path of the stitches so that the stitches blended in so that the piece the feel as if the spiral was created at the same time as the background. It is made of multi-coloured fibres, with blue and orange predominantly dominating the piece, with the intricate stitches creating a textured surface. The consistent circular stitches gives the piece an orderly yet dynamic appearance, and the colours shift subtly throughout, adding depth and visual interest.
