Stepping Out

This piece is the first one in the series where I chose to use individual colours instead of working with a blend. I trust myself implicitly when I am blending colours together, it is something I find incredibly natural and I feel like I have the instincts of knowing that when I mix together a handful of colours that separately look like they would clash but once together look incredible. For this piece taking one colour at a time truly tested my colour theory knowledge and intuition to create a dynamic piece that balances form and colour.

This artwork features a vibrant, multi-coloured crochet or woven design, arranged in a circular shape and attached to a metallic frame. The pattern radiates from the centre outward, with intricate layers of different colours, including greens, yellows, reds, and purples, creating a flowing, organic appearance. The outer edge of the crochet is dark grey, providing contrast against the lighter shades.
