This is the first piece I made in this style. I had a set of polyester sewing threads that I felt could work as an almost miniature blanket. From this I got out one of my smallest crochet hooks and started to work in the round. I have always preferred to work in circles and spirals so that is the direction this piece took. It was only then I realised that I had to, somehow, create this into an artwork. I considered attaching it to canvas, or mounting it within a frame, but when I saw the golden hoops in a shop I knew exactly how it should be mounted. By using the hoop the piece can create an artworks that encapsulate their environment into the piece. The colours of this piece remind me of winter evenings where there is a coldness in the colours of the sky as the sun disappears over the horizon.
