Trouble

This artwork was difficult, I used the colours in a way that on paper should have blended together perfectly, I then crocheted up in a simple spiral and it should have worked. But I felt that something was wrong. It felt disconnected and even though all the colours blended together there was something missing that I couldn’t put my finger on. I put it at the back of the cupboard for a long time, fully intending on undoing the whole thing and starting again from scratch. Eventually, in a moment of inspiration I realised that the reason it wasn’t working wasn’t because there was something wrong with the piece just that it was incomplete. I continued the piece and those final stitches brought the whole piece together. This piece now has a range of muted greens and browns to hints of purple, yellow, and pink, adding depth and visual interest to the pattern. The combination of earthy and vibrant tones with the intricate circular design gives this piece a lively, organic feel.
